Mom's Broken Way....

Image
Cut & paste to the FB drainhole.  So, I've been praying about whether or not to begin writing again.   I'd appreciate your opinion.  Is it too much self-focus? or should I try again?    I have two pages still up:  https://fyribooks.blogspot.com/ https://fyribooks.wordpress.com/ May 2017 was month of reflection and joyfully seeing the NW spring break into summer. FyhriGarden had lovely weather for beginning of 🔥 fire ring. Don't think they sunburned themselves much. . The quote below from Broken Way author, speaks to me as a caregiver. I wasn't a calm or patient Mom., I feel somewhat a failure for being unable to improve much while caring for hubby. "You wanted to be more patient — you wanted to never lose it, to always have it together, to  keep calm and that is all , always, — and yeah, take their tantrums with a grain of salt instead of throwing one of yours that turned out to be a first class tsunami and a tad bit more dramatic than theirs.......

Sunday cloudy with chances of exhaustion

Image
Anticipated  typical  busyness  for  Sunday Beautiful  restful  minutes  contemplating  future .  By: AC  Fyri   Submitted  this  picture  for  a reflection  of  my Summer  "waves  of  grief  " on the Photo  Grief  website . This  particular  morning I'm  feeling  a  bit  of  unease, even  though  we've  got  through  another  health  event. Back  to  the  routine with  only  minor  changes  to  follow  up  with .   Otoh, it's  Late   (lol) 9am .  The  Gospel to  read and Jesus  to share .  Driver  duty  for  me. But, also  maybe  a few  minutes  conversation  with  girlfriend .

CRS Philippines. Awesome

Image
Marty's great focus on living minimally Tom willing  to  go with  me. to give excess to God's work  is a definite  benefit for me. I've been able to travel to Guatemala and now to Philippines. Getting  ready  to  go  was more  stressful  than the flight there. A week  of education  and  experience  has been  an  amazing  time .  I'm  pretty  much  overwhelmed  by  the  love  and  compassion  I saw  embodied  in CRS  projects. I'm  grateful  as well, for  the  people  who  are  committed  to working  with  those who  are  struggling  in these  challenges. I was exhausted  but  extremely  blessed  to  be  able  to  see  the  groundbreaking  ceremony  for  the  Anibong resettlement project. 900 families  will  be  able  to  begin  anew away  from  the  daily threat of flooding  and seasonal  devestation  from storm surges. I'm  home again very  grateful  for  my blessings . ***Quote for July Pope Francis . 2017 prayer intentions Lapsed Christians. T

Farmers Market & Trip Planning

Image
Farmers Market Burien Opened  May 4th 2017 thru October.  That will be our "event of the day" I am sometimes anxious over the surprising (Still!) difficulties that occur during our daily routines, and then a special event / day is upon us, and I have to plan ahead, to prepare for a seemingly simple task. Circus for Jesus . . Remember  Royal Lichtenstein ?   Nick Weber book promo https://youtu.be/cYJ1YSBO6Cw **plus  I'm  easily  sidetrack ? * SNIP - TMI * I've  been  reading  about  traveling   Here , most recently .  Caregiver.com seems  to  be a good  launching  point  for many questions , or well, sometimes  just validation  of my feelings .  Alz.org  is very good  but I've  recently  been  too busy  to  read that in  depth  information. Trip Planning lately can be as simple as a prayer and a note to remind him where I've gotten to. No disaster so far .. trip for CRS coming up. Will see how depending upon others does. Move to new residence likely

Jesus' Farewell Discourse - What's That?

Image
John 14-17, HERE    😐 This  part  of  the  Gospel  is referred  to  as farewell  discourse  at times .  Jesus  speaking  in Jerusalem  just  before  his  passion .  I sometimes  dive into a  deeper  level .  This  particular  case, I  need  to  study  slowly  and  with input  from  scholarly  sources especially  Saint  Thomas  Aquinas. I found  this  great  source    HERE: John 14  ( translated by Fabian R. Larcher, O.P.)  includes : " there is a troubled state which arises from reason; this is to be praised and is not forbidden: "For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation" . Yet there is a different grief or troubled state of the reason itself; this is not laudable because it draws the reason from its proper course; this is forbidden:..." I am able  to  make  the distinction  between  godly  grief  and "troubled state  of the  reason  " ,  I've  been  limited  in properly  reactions  though. There are many  different  ways

Prayer before Internet access / Pentecost

Image
I've re-read some old posts, and found this good old-fashioned style, prayer to focus my mind prior to the "journey" into the wilderness that is the Internet. Prayer before logging onto the internet: by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf LISTEN Almighty and eternal God, who created us in Thine image and bade us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thine Only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant, we beseech Thee, that, through the intercession of Saint Isidore, Bishop and Doctor, during our journeys through the internet we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to Thee and treat with charity and patience all those souls whom we encounter. Through Christ our Lord. Amen **************£ Also --- Pentecost . Baron on Pentecost   I listen  and pray  for  grace to be able  to  carry  the message  into my life, my vocation .  I'm ... well....  *€*€£*&*¥** Quote    Forget  if only … “This is

Alive in the Spirit: 6th Sunday of Easter

Image
Alive in the Spirit: Scott Hahn Reflects on the Sixth Sunday of Easter .. St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology . ""Jesus will not leave us alone. He won't make us children of God in Baptism only to leave us "orphans," He assures us in today's Gospel  (Romans 8:14-17) He asks the Father to give us His Spirit, to dwell with us and keep us united in the life He shares with the Father. We see the promised gift of His Spirit being conferred in today's First Reading. The scene from Acts apparently depicts a primitive Confirmation rite. Philip, one of the first deacons (Acts 6:5) , proclaims the Gospel in the non-Jewish city of Samaria. The Samaritans accept the Word of God   (Acts 17:11 ; 1 Thessalonians 2:13)   and are baptized. It remains for the Apostles to send their representatives, Peter and John, to pray and lay hands on the newly baptized—that they might receive the Holy Spirit. This is the origin of ou
